Nvidia wants to enter the server rental market. The Informationreports that the semiconductor giant is close to a deal with Lepton AI. This company rents out servers powered by Nvidia AI chips. The outlet cites unnamed sources to claim that the deal is worth several hundreds of millions of dollars.
Nvidia declined comment.
Lepton AI, founded two years ago, raised an $11M seed round from CRV & Fusion Fund in May 2023. Together AI is the other major player in the server-rental market. This startup has raised more than 500 million dollars in venture capital, despite being only a year younger than Lepton. Nvidia acquired synthetic data startup Gretel, according to reports, last week.
