Nvidia announces GeForce RTX5050 for $249

Nvidia announced today the smallest member in the RTX series, the GeForce RTX5050. It will be priced at $249, and available in the second half July.

The RTX 5050 is based on a new GB207 Die based on Blackwell Architecture with 2560 CUDA Cores, which is two thirds the RTX 5060 launched in April. It also has 4th generation RT and 5th generation Tensor Cores, just like other 50-series graphics cards. This allows it to support features such as DLSS4 and multi-frame generation, and the upcoming Reflex 2.

RTX 5050 GPU clocks at 2.31GHz and can be boosted up to 2.57GHz. It comes with 8GB of 128-bit GDDR6 RAM, making it the first 50-series card to not have GDDR7. 3x DisplayPort 2.1b, 1x HDMI 2.1b, 1x NVENC encoder of 9th generation and 6th generation NVDEC are also included. The card can be powered by a single 8 pin connector or a PCIe Gen5 cable of 300W or more.

The card is also in the ballpark for RTX 4060 performance two years ago.

By the end of next month, the RTX-5050 should be available. The Founders Edition is not available from Nvidia, but the card can be purchased from all major board manufacturers, including ASUS Colorful Gainward Galaxy GIGABYTE INNO3D MSI Palit PNY and ZOTAC.
