Two of the biggest players in television will be adding artificial intelligence (AI) by using software from a major tech giant.

LG is adding an entire AI section to their TVs, and rebranding its remote control to an “AI Remote.” According to The VergeLG will use Copilot in order to allow users to efficiently find and organize complex data using contextual clues. “
While LG hasn’t shown off the Copilot integration, the company has shown off its own AI Chatbot. Copilot appears when the TV is looking for more information about a topic displayed on screen.
Samsung showcased its own AI brand called Vision AI. It will be used for several features that were demonstrated at CES. These include AI upscaling and ‘Auto HDR Remastering’. There will also a button which will use AI for tasks such as recognizing food on the screen, translating content and smart home integration.
Samsung is using Copilot with their new Vision AI. In a press release, they stated that this partnership will “enable users to explore a range of Copilot Services, including personalized content suggestions.”
The features will be available on Samsung’s OLED models, QLED models, Neo QLED models, and The Frame.
