Pandora is a compact mini PC device that measures just 121mm by 145mm by 66mm, and weighs only 470g. It was announced in a YouTube Video spotted Videocardz. The new device, which looks like a mini-PC, is actually called “mini AI hardware” ; it is specifically designed for tasks such as AI inference, machine-learning acceleration, and robots.
Pandora is powered by the Nvidia Jetson Orin NX Super Platform and comes in two versions, with 8GB or16GB of RAM. It delivers 117 or 157 AI TOPS, respectively. The device is pre-installed JetPack SDK 6.1.1 and Ubuntu Linux on a 128GB SSD. It also features an active cooling system that maintains performance even under heavy load.
Pandora has a good selection of ports
Pandora comes with two USB 3.2 Gen2 type-A ports and two USB 2.0 type-A ports. It also has dual Ethernet ports (2x RJ45 1G) as well as an HDMI 2.0 port. Audio is available via a 3.5mm pin header or a Line Out/Line In option.
Users can add SSDs, WiFi, Bluetooth and 5G/LTE modules to the M.2 slots. Pandora’s support for 3D printed expansions through customizable casing shells is one of its standout features. This allows users to extend the capabilities of the device – a useful option for developers who need adaptable hardware.
Palit suggests a number of use cases for Pandora. In smart retail, it can analyze customer demographics and deliver real-time customized advertisements through digital signage.
It supports interactive teaching tools that use text-tospeech and object recognition technology. For robotics and automation it offers extensive I/O options, compatibility with Nvidia Isaac, and ROS2. It can also handle demanding AI tasks like natural language processing and creating content.
