OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT-5, announced its launch last week. A “new era” of work will help put intelligence at the heart of every business.
Although the debut of the fifth version of the generative AI models fits into the frenzy of IT releases which have boosted tech stocks in anticipation for a boom in technology adoption, the impact of artificial intelligence on the near-term is less clear. In traditional industries such as real estate, it is still unclear how innovation in the tech stratosphere relates to business practices on the floor.
The survey asks respondents to share their information on how they use technology, including AI. It was emailed out to over 15,000 Mingtiandi subscriptions. Responses are accepted until 23:59 on the Friday, 29th August. The 18-question questionnaire takes less than 5 minutes to complete, and respondents are eligible for complimentary MTD Pro as a bonus.
Measuring Tech Use
ChatGPT-5’s launch is the latest in a series of AI milestones that have fueled investment in top tech firms and raised expectations for increased productivity and streamlining business processes. Goldman Sachs estimates
that despite AI dominating the tech conversation in the US, only 9 percent of US companies are using the technology regularly. This year’s survey, which aims to inform decision-makers about trends in AI adoption and other technologies in Asia, asks respondents to chart their own and their company’s progress on the adoption path, and to explore the barriers that users face. The poll asks respondents to look ahead and determine which aspects of the real estate industry they believe will benefit most from technological advances. It also asks them what benefits their company has derived from AI, if they have adopted it. The survey, which is based on the fact that more powerful technologies are increasing the value of data resources, also examines what steps companies take to protect their data assets as well as the incidence of cybersecurity in the region. Bonus Access to MTD Pro (2019012) The responses to the survey will remain confidential and anonymous.
In return for helping to better understand the industry, survey respondents can receive a complimentary month of MTD Pro (worth US$499 per annum) upon completion of the survey.
The results of the survey will appear in a special Mingtiandi report that will be released during the fourth quarter this year. Statistics from the 2025 poll are set to be compared to historical data from previous reports.
Many respondents said they were using tools that were not part of their corporate systems.
At a corporate level, 26 % of respondents stated that their companies had begun research into AI and an equal number were already implementing systems. Only 16 percent said that their companies had stable AI system in place.
