The AI industry in America and abroad had a monumental year last year. TechCrunch’s count shows that 49 startups raised funding rounds of $100 million or higher in 2024. Three companies raised multiple “mega-rounds” and seven companies raised rounds of $1 billion or more.
What will 2025 look like? Although it’s only the first half of the calendar year, it appears that the momentum from 2024 will continue into this year. In the U.S., there have been more AI mega-rounds in Q1 of 2025 than in Q1 of 2024.
Here is a list of all the U.S. AI firms that have raised $100M this year:
July
- Enterprise Search Startup Glean continues to rake it in. The company announced on June 10 that it had raised $150 million in a Series F round led by Wellington Management, with participation from Sequoia Venture Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Kleiner Perkins. Glean’s value has now risen to $7.25 billion.
- Anysphere, the AI research laboratory behind AI coding software Cursor, has raised a $900 million Series C funding round, valuing the company at almost $10 billion. The round was led Thrive Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz and Accel. DST Global also participated.

- AI Data Labeling Startup Snorkel AI announced a On May 29, the company was valued at $1.3 billion after a $100 million Series D round. Addition led the round, with Prosperity7 Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners joining.
- LMArena, a community-driven benchmarking tool that is used to evaluate AI models, raised $100 million in a seed round, which valued the startup at $650 million. The round was announced by Andreessen-Horowitz and UC Investments on May 21. Lightspeed Venture Partners and Kleiner Perkins were also involved, as well as Felicis.
- Las Vegas based AI infrastructure company TensorWave announced a $100 Million Series A round on 14 May. Magnetar Capital, AMD Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners and Maverick Silicon participated in the round.

- Ai giant OpenAI raised a record-breaking funding round of $40 billion that valued the startup as $300 billion. SoftBank led the round which closed on March 31. Other participants included Thrive Capital and Microsoft.

- AI-coding startup TURINGcompleted a Series E funding round on 7 March that valued the startup at $2.2 billion. The startup partners with LLM companies. Khazanah Nasional led the $111 million round, with participation by WestBridge Capital and Gaingels. Sozo Ventures was also a participant.

- A startup for synthetic voice ElevenLabs raised $180 million in a Series C round, valuing the company at over $3 billion. The news was released on January 30. ICONIQ Growth, Andreessen Horowitz and others were co-leaders of the round. Sequoia Ventures, NEA Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and others were also involved in the round.
- Hippocratic AI, which develops large-language models for the healthcare sector, announced a $141million Series B round on Monday, January 9.
