AI Creators Academy Launches In Kenya To Empower Digital Storytellers.

A new AI Creators Academy was launched in Kenya in order to empower the next generation digital storytellers.

POSH I.T and ArtsEnvoy.ai have launched the Kenya Edition for the Africa AI Creators Academy in collaboration with ArtsEnvoy.ai. This is to provide Kenyan artists, educators, digital entrepreneurs, and content creators with AI skills. Lisa Russell, founder and CEO of ArtsEnvoy.ai and Emmy-winning film maker, says, “As an AI artist and filmmaker myself, I have seen firsthand the impact that creative AI can have on self-expression, entrepreneurship and impact.” This is about building local talents for global influence.

Scheduled to begin June 30, 2025 this one-month immersion program offers Kenyan youths access to over 100+ AI powered tools, including video generators and scriptwriters. It also includes peer learning and expert-led sessions.

Kenya’s Africa AI Creators Academy, part of a pan African initiative aimed at democratizing access to the AI Economy through culturally relevant and story-first training. ArtsEnvoy.ai is a one-stop solution for creatives. Students can create a short movie, a social campaign or a poetry book using one platform.

This isn’t a course. Oscar Mwai is the founder of POSH IT. He says that it’s a movement aimed at unlocking the creative and economic potential in AI for Kenyan youth. “We are proud to pilot this right here in Kenya, where digital innovation meets story-telling.”

Oscar Mwai (19659008) The Academy is aiming to shift the power of creative economy away from the traditional gatekeepers. Students can create their own scripts and films, design campaigns and distribute their work without expensive software, industry connections or institutional approval.

Kenya cohort will include 30 short video modules and weekly live sessions with Lisa Russell as mentor. Each student will also receive 5,000+ AI credit to experiment and build portfolios. The program is open for filmmakers, designers and musicians, as well as educators and creators from all backgrounds, who are interested in learning how to use AI ethically.

Applications for students in Kenya are now open. There are a limited number of scholarships available to ensure equal access.
