A survey found that many users prefer Gemini to create images. It is used by both individuals and enterprises.
It’s likely that you’ve already used Google Gemini, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion to create AI images, or Google Veo or MiniMax Hailuo to create AI videos. Which is the most popular and why?
The Artificial Analysis State of Generation survey polled over 300 developers and creators in order to understand the personal and enterprise uses of AI-powered video and image creation. According to a quick glance, 74% respondents use Google Gemini to create images, followed by OpenAI GPT Image (64%), and Black Forest Labs Flux (37%).
According to new data, Gemini is also gaining on ChatGPT, in a particular way.
Google Gemini remains the most popular AI image creator for both individuals (77%) as well as enterprises (68%); and Google Veo is the most popular AI video creator for both individuals (67%) and enterprises (72%).
Popular Uses
According to the survey, using AI to create images is more popular than creating videos. AI-generated videos and images for personal use are also more common than those for enterprise. The survey respondents integrate AI-generated images into their creative workflows (53%), and 39% use AI-generated video for the same purpose.
Of the surveyed organizations, 39% of respondents use AI video generators and 44% use AI image creation.

The survey found that AI image and video creators creating content for personal use mostly create AI images for “small, one-off creations” (81%) and 77% use AI Videos for the same purpose. However, respondents who use AI image- and video-generators for personal use prefer AI videos for “storyboarding, special effects, and short-form promotional clips” (63%) compared to AI images (52%).
According to the survey, organizations prefer AI video creators for advertising purposes (55%), as opposed to using AI image-generators for the same purpose (42%). Surveyed organizations cite higher quality outputs (82%), accurate prompt adhesion (73%), and a lower total cost (55%), as the main drivers behind their choice of AI video and image models to lease for organization-wide.
