Graphics cards have become almost ridiculously powerful over the years. However, it has also become increasingly difficult to buy one. NVIDIA has launched a new product to help solve this problem. Verified Priority access is a program that NVIDIA has introduced for its recently launched GeForce RTX series of GPUs. Verified Priority access offers an unspecified amount of people the opportunity to purchase a GeForce RTX Founders Edition graphics cards directly from the company.
The “opportunity” is only available to US customers who have an NVIDIA Account that was created before January 30, 9AM ET/6AM PST. Interested partiescan sign up using a form. Invites will start being sent next week.
NVIDIA used a similar strategy to deal with shortages in its 4000-cardalthough it was an invitation-only pilot. This system could keep more products out of the hands of scalpers and crypto operations, in favor of legitimate clients. It would be nice to have more robust responses from the manufacturers, especially considering how long GPU access has been a problem .
