Updates to Studio and YouTube Live, as well as new AI tools and everything else announced during Made on YouTube

At this year’s Made on YouTube event, the platform introduced a suite of innovative features and enhancements aimed at empowering creators. Highlights included significant upgrades to YouTube Live, fresh monetization options, and advanced AI-driven tools designed to streamline content creation and audience engagement.

YouTube’s Creator Studio, the central hub for channel management and analytics, has been enhanced with several new capabilities. Among these are an inspiration tab to spark creative ideas, A/B testing for video titles to optimize click-through rates, and an auto-dubbing feature that generates lip-synced translations to reach global audiences more effectively.

One standout addition is the expanded “likeness detection” tool, now available in open beta. This AI-powered system enables creators to identify and flag unauthorized videos that misuse their facial likeness, offering greater control over personal brand protection.

Additionally, the new AI-driven Ask Studio assistant provides real-time guidance and answers to creators’ questions about their channels. Collaboration has also been simplified, allowing up to five creators to co-produce videos accessible to the wider creator community.

Enhanced YouTube Live Features

YouTube Live has received a range of updates designed to boost interactivity and viewer engagement. Creators can now entertain audiences with integrated minigames during streams and broadcast simultaneously in both horizontal and vertical formats, catering to diverse viewing preferences.

One of the most innovative features is AI-generated highlights that automatically extract the most captivating moments from live broadcasts, converting them into shareable Shorts. Complementing this is a novel “side-by-side” ad format that displays advertisements alongside the live content without interrupting the viewing experience, akin to a split-screen setup.

Moreover, YouTube is integrating a customized version of Google’s Veo 3 text-to-video generative AI into Shorts. This tool, dubbed Veo 3 Fast, empowers creators to animate still images by applying motion from videos, stylize clips with various effects, and insert objects through simple text commands. Coupled with Google’s Lyria 2 AI music model, creators can transform spoken dialogue into catchy soundtracks, enhancing Shorts’ appeal.

YouTube Music: Strengthening Artist-Fan Connections

Updates to YouTube Music focus on deepening engagement between musicians and their audiences. New features include countdown timers for upcoming releases, enabling fans to anticipate new tracks, and personalized “thank you” videos from artists as a token of appreciation.

Additionally, a pilot program in the U.S. offers fans exclusive access to artist merchandise, fostering a closer community and new revenue streams for creators.

AI Innovations for Podcast Creators

YouTube is rolling out AI-powered tools tailored for podcasters to simplify content promotion and expand reach. Starting next year, audio podcasts can be seamlessly converted into video podcasts, broadening distribution channels and enhancing discoverability.

Expanded Monetization Opportunities

Creators now have more avenues to generate income through YouTube’s evolving monetization ecosystem. The platform’s YouTube Shopping Program enables creators to tag products within their videos, facilitating direct sales and brand partnerships.

New features include the ability to swap out sponsorships in long-form content, automated timestamping for product tags, and AI-driven identification of optimal moments to showcase products. Shorts creators will soon be able to embed direct links to brand websites, streamlining brand collaborations.

Furthermore, YouTube’s creator-brand partnership hub will proactively recommend suitable creators to brands, enhancing matchmaking efficiency and opening doors for new sponsorship deals.
