Tencent has reportedly increased its use of large-scale models and made significant hardware improvements. The recent purchase of new chips by NVIDIA by the company has led to a noticeable short-term shortage of NVIDIA chips.
Sources close to NVIDIA revealed that Tencent’sprocurement expenditure has increased by tens or even hundreds of billions RMB. Despite these disclosures, Tencent is yet to make any official statements regarding these reports.
Insiders from Alibaba Cloud disclosed that Tencent’ssubstantial acquisition of H20 chip is primarily designed to address the impending integration DeepSeek into WeChat. This integration requires a high level of computing power, prompting Tencent is looking for additional high-performance chips to support.
