Synology unveiled its powerful lineup of next generation solutions at COMPUTEX 2020, reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in storage, private cloud, and surveillance innovation. Synology’s new PAS7700 Active-Active NVMe Storage, the cloud native C2 Surveillance Video Management System, and expanded offerings for productivity and home clouds were all introduced under the theme of enabling trust data ecosystems.

PAS7700: Enterprise-Grade Active-Active NVMe Storage

Leading Synology’s enterprise announcements is the PAS7700, a flagship all-flash storage platform built to deliver non-disruptive, ultra-high-performance for mission-critical workloads.

The PAS7700 is a 4U chassis that houses dual controllers with 48 NVMe SSDs. It can support up to 1.65PB raw capacity, and supports 100GbE networking.

Its active-active design ensures continuous uptime for all system layers. It also includes 3-2-1-1 data security with immutable snap shots and offsite backup options.

PAS7700 is designed to deliver enterprise-grade performance for mainstream prices. It offers inline and offsite deduplication, which optimizes storage efficiency. It is fully compatible and supports three times as many concurrent users with Synology Drive, Synology Office and other productivity apps. The PAS7700 will be launched in the second half 2025.

Cloud-Native video surveillance without NVRs

It is designed for multi-site businesses and offers real-time monitoring as well as AI-powered detection across geographical boundaries.

The camera setup can be completed in minutes, even with mobile devices. Locally, footage is recorded on microSD cards with optional cloud backup. Failover offline mode allows local recording during internet outages. Users can easily configure detection functions, while AES-128 encrypted data, MFA and ISO 27001/SOC 2 compliant protection protects data.

Synology will release C2 Surveillance later this year.

Expanded Enterprise Protection – ActiveProtect DP7200.

.

Synology has also announced the DP7200. It can be used as a standalone backup server for branches or a central CMS, providing unified protection to distributed workloads.

Immutability and network isolation are built-in to protect against cyber threats. Simplified recovery ensures that clean backups are always available.

Productivity suite enhancements: ChatPlus, Synology Meet

Synology has launched two enterprise-grade collaboration software tools to support hybrid work environments: ChatPlus, and Synology meet. ChatPlus offers secure team messaging, with advanced channel control and permission settings.

Synology Meet provides private cloud-based videoconferencing, ensuring data ownership and encrypted communications. Both apps are run on Synology’s on-premise infrastructure to address data sovereignty and privacy concerns.

BeeStation Plus – The Home Cloud Hub

Synology has introduced BeeStation Plus for families and individuals. It allows auto-backup of iCloud Photo Libraries, and integrates Plex Media Server for home entertainment.

BeeStation Plus supports surveillance when paired up with the Synology camera CC400W, offering motion detection, sound detection, and pet detection with real-time notifications.

Synology’s COMPUTEX 2020 presentation highlights a unified vision – delivering enterprise performance, intelligent clouds infrastructure, and privacy first design across all solution tiers. Synology continues its mission to redefine the possibilities of secure, AI powered data management, whether it’s for large-scale data centres or smart homes.
