TL: Dr: UV Printers are used by businesses to print on a variety of surfaces. EufyMake aims bring the same capabilities to individuals. Early-bird pricing is now available for the company’s Direct-to-Film printer, and a Kickstarter campaign will launch at the end this month.
UV Printer E1 of Anker’s eufyMake line allows non-business users to print detailed color designs on cups, tiles and other materials. It supports 3D texture and AI-based editing tools.
UV Printers can print on surfaces such as wood and metal, acrylic, leather or glass, and rock. They use UV light to quickly dry the ink. It is faster, more eco-friendly, and doesn’t often require mounting or finishing.
Direct to Film (DTF) UV printers apply the process to a peel-off film that users can transfer onto various hard, smooth, flat, or curved surfaces, eliminating the need for heat pressing. However, traditional UV printers are often large, expensive machines designed for industrial use.
Anker’s 1440 DPI DTF printer scales the concept down by about 90 percent to a form factor more suited to personal use, small businesses, contract designers, or other small-scale purposes.
Its auto leveler facilitates rotary printing onto mugs or other cylindrical objects, and its lasers can accurately measure height and contours for 3D texturing. The company claims the device is useful for creating decals, small-volume product labels, signage, and electronics or sports gear decorations. Prints can resist sunlight, weather, and washing for months.
Beginning in June, the UV Printer E1 is compatible with eufyMake, the brand’s software for image editing. Users can customize 2D and 3-D textures manually or with AI tools. AI tools generate images, change art style, and remove photo background. A built-in cleaning system that uses cleaning fluid reduces maintenance.
Early bird pricing starts at $1499 with a deposit of $50, available until the 28th of April. Standard bundles start at $1,899 during the Kickstarter campaign, which runs from April 29 through June 8. There is a $200 early-bird discount. In July, shipments to the US, Canada and Europe will begin. The standard package includes 100ml CMYK ink cartridges for white and gray, a 380ml cleansing cartridge, a rotary attachement, and a DTF laminater.
