Samsung Interactive Displays now feature Android and AI

Samsung has introduced Galaxy AI in its smartphones and now generative AI will be available on interactive displays. The company announced that WAFX-P models would now support key features we’ve seen in smartphones, including Circle to Search, AI Summary and Live Transcript.

This service is called Samsung AI Assistant, and is available for education-focused displays which aim to replace the classroom blackboard.

Hoon Chung is the Executive VP for the Visual Display Business of Samsung Electronics. He boldly stated that this is not a feature designed to enhance learning, but it is “revolutionizing” what it is.

Circle to Search instantly delivers search results from trusted resources, and will work the same as we know it. Just draw a circle around any text or image. AI Summary summarizes lessons to simplify the teacher’s post-lesson review, while Live Transcript converts spoken words into text in real-time for ease of use by students.

The device will have an NPU that can perform 4.8 trillion operations every second. It will also feature 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and an unnamed octa core CPU.

This panel has a maximum brightness of 450 nits, a 4K camera built in for video lessons, conference calls, and a microphone. It also includes a 20-watt loudspeaker. The screen’s operating system is based on Android 15 and will include some neat features such as Smart Note-On which allows for easy transition from handwriting to digital content, and the File Converter which simplifies media consumption.
