OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that the way users interact and use ChatGPT depends on their age. Altman says that the way you interact with AI depends on your age. Altman, speaking at Sequoia Capital’s AI Ascent event in New York, said that while there was a “gross oversimplification,” trend emerging for how individuals use ChatGPT. Altman’s YouTube video is below. He says, ” “people in college use it as an operating system.”

He goes in depth by explaining how younger people interact with ChatGPT, and AI as a entire, by using it. “to connect it to a bunch of files, and they have fairly complex prompts memorized in their head or in something where they paste in and out.”

Altman continues, ” “There’s this other thing where they don’t really make life decisions without asking ChatGPT what they should do. It has the full context on every person in their life and what they’ve talked about.”

As a 30-year old man who barely uses TikTok I can’t imagine how Gen Z will interact with ChatGPT. I wouldn’t surprise if Altman was right, and that there are many people who make major life decisions with the help of AI. This sounds a bit worrying to me.
