The Bot: Salesforce has decided to raise prices for certain paid Slack Plans. The company is trying to justify the price increase by claiming that all customers now have access more AI features. If you don’t need or want AI, you will likely pay more.

According a recent announcement by Salesforce, Slack users will now be required to pay more in order to receive new AI-based functions. The paid plans will cost a few extra dollars per user. This means that larger organizations may have to pay significantly more if they plan to continue using this cloud-based collaboration tool for the foreseeable.

For companies paying annually, the Slack Business+ plan increases from $12.50 per user to $15 per month. Monthly billing will increase from $15 to $18 for each user. Some plans (Foundations Starter and Pro) will not see price increases. Salesforce has also launched a new Enterprise+ Plan that offers enhanced search, admin and control capabilities.

The platform’s integration with AI features is at the heart of these Slack prices increases. Business+ and Enterprise+ plans unlock advanced AI capabilities, such as AI search, translations, file summary, and more. Salesforce’s Agentforce service is also a big bet on agentic AI

. Customers of Agentforce can create their own AI agents which, according the cloud giant, will enhance employee and user experiences through the new “digital labor” model.
