RoboSense Achieves Key Milestones in LiDAR Commercialization and NVIDIA Partnership

RoboSense, a prominent innovator in LiDAR technology, recently announced two pivotal developments that mark significant progress in the commercialization of its advanced sensing solutions and deepen its collaboration with U.S. semiconductor leader NVIDIA.

Mass Production Launch of EM Digital LiDAR Platform

The company revealed that its EM series of digital LiDAR sensors has officially entered large-scale manufacturing. This product line, which spans from the entry-level EMX to the high-capacity EM4 model, is designed to serve a broad spectrum of applications including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and robotics. Since its initial release in early 2018, the EM platform has been adopted by eight leading automotive manufacturers, powering 45 vehicle models across prominent Chinese and Japanese brands.

Central to this success is RoboSense’s proprietary chip, which consolidates multiple functions such as scanning, laser emission, signal processing, and computational tasks into a single integrated circuit. This innovation enables the delivery of high-performance LiDAR capabilities at costs suitable for mass-market deployment, addressing a critical challenge in autonomous vehicle sensor technology.

Integration with NVIDIA DRIVE AgX Enhances Autonomous Driving Capabilities

Shortly after the mass production announcement, RoboSense confirmed its entry into the NVIDIA DRIVE ecosystem by making its flagship LiDAR sensor compatible with NVIDIA’s DRIVE AgX platform. This strategic alliance aims to accelerate the rollout of sophisticated autonomous driving systems by merging RoboSense’s high-resolution LiDAR data with NVIDIA’s powerful AI computing infrastructure.

The partnership is expected to significantly shorten automakers’ development timelines, facilitating the transition from Level 2 driver assistance to more advanced Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving functionalities. By combining sensor precision with AI-driven decision-making, the collaboration supports the evolution of safer and more reliable self-driving vehicles.

Industry Impact and Future Outlook

Mark Qiu, CEO of RoboSense, described the collaboration as a “crucial advancement toward the commercialization of robotaxis and connected intelligent vehicles.” He highlighted that early adopters such as Zeekr and IM Motors have already integrated RoboSense’s high-channel LiDAR sensors into their production fleets, underscoring the technology’s readiness for real-world deployment.

With the EM platform scaling up production and seamless integration into NVIDIA’s DRIVE ecosystem, RoboSense is strategically positioned at the forefront of the global autonomous vehicle revolution. As automakers intensify their search for dependable sensor and computing solutions, RoboSense’s innovations are set to play a vital role in powering the next generation of intelligent mobility.
