Both games have received mostly positive reviews. Many praise the graphics and the fact the remaster is faithful to the originals. The old control system is still present, which can be difficult for some people to master. Many reviews state that players will enjoy the games once they master the controls. In some cases, however, the old-school tank controls are necessary to progress through the game.

You can also switch the graphics from the modern polygon to the old-school version. This will bring back the retro feel of the original game, but some players claim that switching graphics is required to see important clues, levers, and items. Tomb Raider IVI Remastered is still worth buying, despite its shortcomings. This is especially true for those who have played the original game when it was released decades ago.
