You’ll have to wait until next month if you’ve ever balked over the price of a Philips Hue intelligent bulb. Signify, the parent of Philips Hue has announced that prices will be raised in the U.S. beginning in July. Tariffs are the reason.

As a direct result from tariffs, Signify will increase the prices of its Philips Hue portfolio on the US market, starting July 1, 2025. company said in a written statement to Hueblog.Signify has stated that it reserves the right to change prices in the event of new tariffs or additional tariffs.

We have reached out to Philips Hue to get their comment.

Philips Hue has become the latest smart-home brand to raise prices in response to tariffs implemented by the Trump administration. The Verge reports that the newly-released Yale Smart Lock with Matter has seen a $20 price increase due to tariffs. Wyze also said it is considering price increases following a recent shipment. The company paid around $255,000 in tariffs.

Philips Hue light bulbs are already expensive when compared to their competitors. Hue White and Color Ambiance Bulb retailing at $64.99as opposed to $26.26 for an 2-pack of Wyze colored bulbs

You can save money by buying Hue bulbs as bundles or waiting until a sale is on (Prime Day will be here soon). We’ve long maintained that Hue lighting products, while expensive, are worth it because they are so feature-packed and reliable and part of an extremely sophisticated smart lighting ecosystem.

Although the Hue price increases won’t be implemented until July 1, there are already signs that Hue lighting products are becoming more expensive.

The newly announced Hue smart button has been redesigned with a larger size. The first Hue smart button was originally sold for $20; New version costs $32.99, which is a 65 percent increase.

This does not mean we expect 65-percent increases in all Hue products for next month. As Signify has noted, the status of the various Trump Tariffs is constantly changing.

If you want to stock up on Hue light bulbs, you may want to do so sooner rather than later.
