NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang visited China recently, stopping in Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The visit, which began on Jan. 19, should last for about a week. Analysts suggest that Huang will be gathering feedback from NVIDIA employees, developers and customers on his trip. This could provide valuable insight for NVIDIA’s strategies in the Chinese marketplace. Huang stated that despite US chip export restrictions NVIDIA is committed to investing in China where its workforce has grown from about 4,000 to 5,000 employees. Huang, a prominent figure in the US tech industry, was also conspicuously absent from President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday.[ Yicai (in Chinese)
