No need to sign in anymore for ChatGPT Search

No longer do you need to sign in for ChatGPT Search.

“ChatGPT Search is now available to all users on chatgpt.com.” OpenAI announced the change on X, adding “No sign-up required.”

This move makes it easier to use ChatGPT search and increases pressure on Google, who has dominated online searching for decades. ChatGPT Search’s increased accessibility may also affect other AI chatbots that focus on search, such as Perplexity.

OpenAI released ChatGPT Search around two years after its regular AI-powered bot. This chatbot quickly gained worldwide attention for its ability to respond to online queries with a conversational tone, saving users the time of having to trawl endless search results.

What is the difference between ChatGPT Search and ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a regular chatbot that is trained using a large dataset up to a certain cutoff date. It does not access real-time data, but ChatGPT search does.

The AI Chatbot is ideal for tasks such as creative writing, brainstorming and general knowledge questions that do not require recent data. ChatGPT Search, on the other hand, is useful for obtaining current news, weather updates and stock prices.

ChatGPT Search also lists its sources and links so that you can click to specific pages to learn more, if desired. This makes it similar to Perplexity, one of its most popular rivals.

How do I use ChatGPT search?

You can access the web interface by simply clicking on ChatGPT.com () and click the “Search” button within the prompt box. You can now enter your prompt. You’ll see boxes that show the source of the information as part of your response. Click on the box to go to the page where ChatGPT got its information. You can also click the “Sources’ button at the bottom of the response to bring up a list of sources.

OpenAI has had a busy start to this year. They recently launched an AI agent named Operator, which performs web-based task autonomously, and Deep Research, an AI that conducts multi-step tasks research autonomously. Both features are designed to increase user productivity.
