Subscribe NowSince Openai released Deep Research, a AI agent that can perform research for users and produce a comprehensive report. Many other companies have released their own versions of this ability, all named Deep Research.
The platform is updated with deep research capabilities. In a blog post the company stated that Deep Research and other features will make Le Chat more capable, intuitive and fun.
AI Impact Series Returns To San Francisco – 5 August

Mistral said its research is powered by a Deep Research agent, which it designed to be “genuinely helpful” and feels like working with an organized research partner.
Deep Research has been called “the first mass market AI that could displace jobs,” especially since it can put out reports faster than human analysts.
Mistral also updated “thinking mode,” where Le Chat users can access the company’s chain-of-thought model Magistral, to read and respond in different languages. It can also code-switch mid-sentence.
Image editing and other features based on prompts
When creating images in the chat app, users can ask the chatbot for help with editing parts of the image by simply giving a simple command. Users can say “generate an image of a cat” and then ask Le Chat “place him in Istanbul”and it will.
It’s ideal for consistent edits, keeping people, items, and design elements recognizable across a series,” Mistral said. Voxtral’s recently released speech recognition software allows Le Chat to support voice mode. Users can now chat out loud on the platform. This mode is said to be best for low-latency voice recognition and keeping up with a conversational pace. Le Chat’s Projects feature allows users organize related topics and conversations into groups. The projects will use their own libraries, which can include uploaded documents, and retain tools and preferences. This is similar in concept to Google NotebookLM.
Many of the new features in Le Chat will be familiar to you. It’s not unusual for other chat platforms, such as ChatGPT and Gemini, to introduce similar features. This is because people have come to expect this functionality when using chat systems.
Both Gemini and ChatGPT, for example, allow users to edit photos generated by a prompt. Chatbots can sometimes misunderstand the image and redo it. Recently, I generated and edited a picture with ChatGPT and the chatbot removed everything I wanted.
ChatGPT has had voice mode since September 2024. However, ChatGPT always had a “Read Aloud’ feature. Google’s Project Astra took voice mode to the next level. In a demo, users could point to something in the real world and ask Gemini to describe it.
Mistral, however, has the advantage of being based in Europe and can bring features to the European Market directly. Due to data regulations and provisions of the European Union AI Act, companies like OpenAI struggle to bring certain services to Europe, such as ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode.
Users were excited to see Mistral bring many powerful features to Le Chat. Some early users saw strong performance from Mistral’s Deep Research.
@realJohnSpykerI am no longer using grok. I am switching to Le Chat AI by Mistral AI AI Assistant for Life and Work. Find answers, read the news and generate images.
Le Chat is a powerful AI that combines extensive information from the web with the power of advanced AI.
