There’s still no word on the pricing or availability of Lenovo’s AI Display, but we hope it will be available soon.

AI is everywhere. It is being embedded into hardware, software, as well as services, making it an important selling point for new products. If you are looking to purchase a high-end laptop for business, it is likely that it will have the latest Intel or AMD processor with an integrated NPU. It may also include a Copilot button which provides AI-powered assistance.

Lenovo announced a number new laptops at MWC 2025. These include upgrades to its ThinkPad, ThinkBook, and ThinkPad Pro lines. They are all optimized for AI workflows. You’re spoilt for choice if you’re looking for a new laptop that you can use for AI tasks.

What if you do not want or need a brand new laptop or cannot afford the latest model but still want AI on your device? You could purchase a new screen. Lenovo’s MWC 2025 proof-of concept includes an AI screen that can transfer its smart capabilities to a connected desktop or laptop system.

Add AI smarts to PC

Lenovo’s concept, called the AI Display, comes with a discrete GPU inside the screen. You wouldn’t be able tell from the outside. Lenovo claims that this is a demonstration of its commitment towards “smarter technologies for all”.

Not only does the dNPU expand the monitor’s abilities – automatically rotating and elevating the screen based on the user’s seating position – but it also adds intelligent capabilities to non-AI computers.

Lenovo states, “With the AI display with NPU inside non-AI computers will be able use Large Language Models. Receiving commands from the users, analyzing and recognising the intent, and then allowing the Assistant execute the request.”

Lenovo has not revealed when or if it plans to launch the AI Display, nor how much it will cost. It’s a brilliant idea, and could be a game changer, provided it launches quickly enough to capitalize on AI boom.

This Lenovo monitor has more ports that an Apple MacBook Pro laptop.
