Leaked images hint at a chatGPT-like tool ahead of GPT-5 launch.

Several new code references in the ChatGPT Android app and web app point to a tool similar to an Operator in GPT’s chain thoughts.

As Tibor on X spotted that the Android beta contains strings such as “click,” “drag,””type,”and even “terminalfeed,” which seems to suggest ChatGPT may soon call a remote environment or browser (Operator?)

For anyone who is unaware, OpenAI has Operator. This uses an AI agent that navigates a remote browser and executes tasks for you. These references suggest that ChatGPT might use a browser to execute tasks. There are also references to “Checking APIs available” and “Reading documentation on APIs.”

(
Android Beta include mentions of “computer tool” action (clicking, performing computer actions, or similar).

The code also mentions “intake form,” which means that OpenAI could limit this feature to an invite-only beta version before rolling it out widely.

Is it ChatGPT-5? We don’t yet know and probably won’t for a while, as OpenAI is occupied with its standoff against Meta.
