How to watch LlamaCon, Meta’s first generative AI Developer Conference, today

After two years of hosting its open-source Llama AI as part of its Connect conferences only, Meta is hosting an entirely generative AI developer conference called LlamaCon in April. The event will be streamed online and you can watch it live on the Meta for Developers Facebook page .

LlamaCon begins today at 10AM ET/1PM ET with a keynote speech from Meta’s Chief Products Officer Chris Cox. Vice President of AI Manohar Paluri will also be delivering the keynote. The keynote will cover the “the latest on the Llama collection of models and tools” developments in Meta’s open-source AI and give a sneak peek at yet-to be released AI features.

After the keynote address, a conversation will take place at 1:45PM PST / 1045PM ET between Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Databricks’ Ali Ghodsi about “building AI-powered applications,” followed by a chat between Zuckerberg (Meta CEO) and Microsoft CEO Satya Naddella (7PM ET / 4:30PM PT) about “the latest trends in AI” . Microsoft and Meta have worked together before, so it’s possible that either conversation could be used to break a story.

Meta doesn’t wait for a conference before releasing updates to Meta AI and the Llama Model. On a Saturday morning in early April, the company launched its new Llama 4 models, which excels at image understanding and documents parsing. It’s unclear what new products or models the company could have kept for LlamaCon.

Today, we’ll liveblog the keynote presentation along with some of Zuckerberg’s subsequent interviews and sessions. Live updates will begin at 10AM ET on today. Stay tuned and refresh the article.

Live: 3 updates

  • I’m on my way to Meta HQ, where the first LlamaCon kicks off with a keynote by Chief Product Officer Chris Cox. I’m hoping to get a glimpse of what Meta has planned for the rest this year.

It’s the first time Meta is hosting a developer event exclusively dedicated to generative AI. Mark Zuckerberg said that the company’s AI investment could reach as high as $1.5 billion this year. As much as $65 billion in the company’s competition for AI dominance. Today is Meta’s chance to talk directly to developers about Meta’s vision for AI.

  • AI reporter Igor Bonifacic will be on our liveblog, as well as senior reporter Karissa, who is covering the event from Meta’s headquarters. You may see me and senior editor Devindra hardawar occasionally chime in as we assist with this liveblog.

  • Updated, April 29, 2025, 6AM ET: The story has been updated to include Engadget’s liveblog and correct some typos.
