Google has updated AI Mode to include more features, while removing the US waitlist. Sign-up is now available immediately.
AI Mode adds place (listings) and product cards. The latter will surface “shoppable” options with images, real time prices, any available offers, shipping details, and local inventory. Google’s Shopping Graph will help you compare products after you specify what you want (like “best folding camping chair that fits in a backpack under $100”) and AI Mode will provide a “comprehensive break-down of recommended products that meet your budget, with product details, and links to retailers.”
Stores and restaurants will display the address, reviews, ratings, opening hours and more. This is similar to Search.
We previously noticed that AI Mode on the Web now has a left side panel to view past search conversations. It opens inline for “longer-running projects and tasks.”
When AI Mode launched in March, it was only available to Google One AI Premium members. Google has now opened the Labs experiment to anyone in the US, after extending the waitlist last month to free users. after joining.
Google will soon begin showing the “AI Mode filter” to users who aren’t registered as part of a limited test.
