Google has announced that it will be releasing I/O 2025, which was announced in May. Subscribers will also be able to access 2.5 Pro. Google Search will now allow users to use AI calling.
Google AI Pro & AI Ultra members in US can now access Gemini 2.5 Pro’s AI Mode for complex “Reasoning & Math & Code” queries. There will be a model selector to choose between the “Default” version, which is a customized version of the Gemini 2 family, that’s intended for “fast, all around assistance on most questions.” You can now ask more complex questions and receive more detailed answers within a few moments. This feature is available first on desktop web.
Google will perform “hundreds” of searches and analyze “disparate pieces of data” to produce a “comprehensive report” that is fully cited. Deep Search can ask for additional details before beginning the research process. Deep Search is particularly useful for research that goes into depth about your career, hobbies, and studies. It can also be a useful tool when making important life decisions like buying a house or needing financial analysis.
Google will give access to Deep Search and Gemini 2.5 Pro to its paying AI Mode customers first. Google views these capabilities as frontiers that come with a cost. The goal is to make it available to as many people possible.
You must have the AI Mode experiment enabled in Labs to receive these features when they are released this week. AI Ultra subscribers, like Gemini app users, will have the highest usage limitations. Google says that it will continue to provide advanced capabilities to all its users worldwide.
Google is also launching agentic capabilities, which will allow Search to call businesses on your behalf to obtain pricing and availability information. This is now rolling out in the US. You answer a Google Search questionnaire:
- Which type of pet do have?
- Which type of [dog or cat]do you have? What services are you looking for? When do you require this service?
- What is your preferred method of receiving updates? Email or text
- Select your location
This is powered by both Gemini models as well as Duplex technology. This feature was tested in Labs under the name “Ask me” and is now available to all Search users across the US. AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers will have higher limits. Businesses can always be in control with this new experience via their Business profile settings. Click here to read more .
