The description of the app states that it is powered by DeepSeek-V3 which boasts 600 billion parameters. The app’s key features include intelligent conversations and AI search. According to the Chinese media outlet iThome, DeepSeek’s DeepSeek R1 training source has been fully open-sourced. In conjunction with releasing R1 and opening-source, the company has changed its licensing structure. The model is now available under the MIT License. DeepSeek had previously introduced a custom licensing structure to the open-source communities based on industry practice, but it was discovered that non-standard licenses can increase developers’ costs of understanding.
