Deals: OnePlus launches 13R while Red Magic 10 Pro is also available

OnePlus 13 was launched globally earlier this week, and the 13R, a more affordable model, was announced at the same time. The flagship model costs a little more this time, but a $100 discount is available on the 16/512GB version, bringing the price down to the OnePlus 12 from last year. There is also a cheaper 12/256GB version, but it does not come with a discount.

Check out our detailed review of the OnePlus 13 and video review. The company has promised four OS updates and six years worth of security patches.

OnePlus 13R will be released next week. You can get it with a $100 gift certificate. The 13R is a “lite version” of its flagship sibling. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in place of an 8 Elite, and its 6,000mAh batteries only do 80W wired charging. It even has a telephoto unit, a 50MP47mm unit with 4x in-sensor and 2x optical zoom. The 13R may not have the same reach (or optical stabilizer) as the 50MP module on the 13, however, it will be hard to beat when it comes to value for money.

This is a gaming smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite actively-cooled (thanks to a built-in fan), a 6.85″ OLED display, an under-display camera and square corners. It’s unlike anything else on the marketplace. The 50MP main (1/1.5″,OIS) and 50MP Ultra Wide cameras are decent but the focus is again on gaming. The phone has a 7,050mAh massive battery that can be charged at 80W.

It’s the first handheld console to include SteamOS right out of the box. Currently, only the Windows 11 edition is available. It uses an older AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU configured with 32GB RAM and 1TB of storage. The cheaper variants will use a Ryzen Z2 Go processor.

Best Buy is currently taking pre-orders for three of the new cards – GeForce RTX5070, 5080, and the top-of the-line RTX5090. The Founders Edition cards are dual-slot, whereas most partner brands use thicker coolers. We will need to wait until reviews are done to see if Nvidia’s cooling solution (the 5090 has a TDP rating of 575W) is sufficient.
