AI Alexa and AI Siri are plagued by bugs and delays

According to two reports published on Friday, both Amazon and Apple are struggling with generating AI technology for their digital assistants – Alexa and Siri – respectively.

Amazon had hoped to unveil its new Alexa at an event in New York, on February 26. Washington Post reports that Amazon will delay the release of Alexa, its AI-powered generative assistant, until March or even later. Bloomberg reports

that Apple’s AI overhaul for Siri is experiencing software bugs and engineering problems. Some of the new features planned for April could not be released until May.

Amazon, Apple and other companies hoped to release their updated products quickly in order to compete with the next-generation AI voice assistants such as OpenAI Advanced Voice Mode or Google’s Gemini Live. But those efforts aren’t going as planned.
