Honor has introduced the X70 5G, a new mid-range smartphone with much endurance thanks to a gigantic 8,300mAh battery and a modern Snapdragon chipset. With a 6,000-nit AMOLED display and a waterproof chassis, the Honor X70 5G arguably has intriguing specifications.

Honor X70 is a new 5G smartphone that measures only 0.31 inches and weighs just 6.8 oz. It still boasts one the largest batteries of its class, with a capacity of 8,300 mAh and USB-C charging up to 80 watts. Wireless charging is only offered on the highest configuration, which includes 512GB of storage. Honor claims the battery can last up to 15.6-hours of GPS navigation, or up to 27-hours of video playback. Honor has also chosen the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 which is a modern processor with four ARM Cortex A720 performance cores, and four Cortex A520 efficiency cores. According to the Chinese manufacturer the X70 5G has a high level of durability. The mid-range smartphone has IP69K certification, which means it is waterproof and can survive drops of up to 8 ft.

The 6.79-inch AMOLED screen has a resolution 2640 x 1280 pixels, a refresh frequency of 120Hz, and a remarkable HDR maximum brightness of 6,000nits. Full-screen brightness is 1,800nits. The touchscreen is designed to react accurately to inputs, even when wet. The Honor X70 features a 50 MP f/1.88 camera with optical stabilization and an 8 MP f/2.0 front camera.

Pricing and availability

Honor X70 5G is first launching in China where the base model comes with 8GB RAM, 128GB of storage and costs $195. Honor charges $279 for the top configuration, which includes 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage.
