Google One AI Premium and Gemini Advanced became “Google AI Pro” at I/O 2025. A higher, more expensive tier, “Google AI Ultra,” was introduced.

Google ai pro

AI Pro, a rebranding of “AI Premium” that is a bit shorter and snappier, drops the explicit “Google One”. In the US it remains for $19.99 per month.

Gemini app

You get “expanded access” to the Gemini app versus “limited access” (on the Free tier). This includes:

• 2.5 Flash and 2.5Pro
• Deep Research
• Audio Overviews
• Spreadsheets and code analysis

Also, there’s the 1 million tokens context window. This is equivalent to 1,500 text pages or 30,000 lines. Comparatively, free users receive a 32K window (roughly 50 pages of text).

You can generate three 8-second 720p clips generated with Veo 3 Fast per day before being switched over to Veo 2.

Gemini in Google Workspace (no longer available)

You can now access the Gemini side panel, as well as other inline features, in Gmail, Google Drive Docs, Sheets and Slides, Meet and Chat.

You will also have access to Google Vids. This AI-powered app lets you create videos, edit them, collaborate with others, and share them. The app is geared towards creating presentations for business or school, but it also has personal uses. Specific capabilities include:

[New] Google Search AI Mode.

AI Pro Subscribers can access Gemini 2.5.0 Pro for more complex “Reasoning and math & code” search. The “AI Mode” dropdown menu is now located in the top-left corner. The “Default” model provides “Fast, all-around assistance.”

On the web, you can access the model picker before you submit a prompt. At the moment, google.com/aimode is also where you can access Deep Search, which is powered by 2.5 Pro, to “ask more sophisticated queries and get back longer, more detailed responses.” Like Gemini’s Deep Research, responses take a few minutes. Google is performing “hundreds of searches” and reason “across disparate pieces of information” to generate a “comprehensive, fully-cited report.” Google can ask you for more details before starting the process.

NotebookLM

Previously, Google’s research tool had a paid tier called NotebookLM Plus. Google AI Pro provides:

• Have up to 500 notebooks (vs. 100) Google AI Pro offers:
  • Up to 500 notebooks (vs. only 100)
  • 300 sources per notebook (vs. just 50)
    

    Google One storage is 2 TB

    and can be used to store Gmail, Drive and Photos. The monthly cost for standalone storage is $9.99.

    Whisk Animate

    In December 2024, Google Labs experiment announced that images of a scene, a subject and a style were used as prompts. Veo 2 is used by the Whisk Animate tool to convert images into short videos. You can create up to 100 videos a month.

    Google announced Flow

    at I/O 2025. Flow is an AI filmmaking software for video creation and editing. It has features such as Text to Video, Ingredients to Video, and Frames To Video.

    Google now offers 1,000 AI Credits each month

    This new plan introduces the concept of AI credits. AI Credits applicable to Whisk and Flow. The AI Credit costs are shown in the table below

    and are per generation (not per request). Some product features create multiple generations for each request. In Flow, for example, a single video request can generate two videos.

    AI Pro subscribers can now buy “top-up AI Credits” at the following rates. They are valid for 12 months, with this ability previously just for the AI Ultra tier.

AI Ultra Subscribers will enjoy the highest usage limits in Google Search for Deep Search and Gemini 2.5 Pro, as well AI calling. NotebookLM Google will be releasing AI Ultra in 2025 to “tease the highest limits and best model capability” in NotebookLM. This would otherwise cost $149.99 per month. YouTube Premium Individual plan costs $13.99 a month. Project Mariner is a research prototype for browser agents that allows you to perform 10 tasks at once.
