  get “general access” (default model) to 2.5 Flash. Gemini 2.5 Pro is “limited” for free users with Canvas benefiting most.

  Google AI Pro subscriptions receive “expanded” access to 2.5 Pro. We now know that this translates to 100 questions per day. The company Gemini Apps’ advanced models have higher chat and prompt limits. You can change models if you reach the capacity limit of a model within a certain time period. Users of the Gemini app with Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra will have higher capacity limits on advanced models.

  Google Ai ultra ( ) provides “highest access to” 2.5 Pro. Ultra subscribers will have access to a Deep Think mode for 2.5 Pro, which we are still waiting for. Agent Mode is also a feature that’s coming.

  Context window

  Google Ai Proor AI Ultra users get a context window of one million tokens. This is equivalent to 1,500 text pages or 30,000 lines.

  File upload and analysis

  Users who are not paying may upload documents, slideshows, images, videos, and questions to receive summaries and insights. You can upload up to 10 files per prompt (maximum size 100 MB). File formats supported include:

  • Documents: DOC, PPTX, PDF, RTF
  • Plain Text files: TXT Spreadsheet files (XLS, XLSX)
    • Google Sheets Spreadsheets
    • Tabular data files (CSV, TSV]

    Similarly, the ability to upload code folders and repositories also requires a subscription. Google touts how you can get “insights from thousands of lines of code, make intelligent changes, debug errors, and optimize your code for peak performance.”

    Video upload

    Upload videos to Gemini for analysis. Each clip can be as large as 2 GB. Free users are limited to 5 minutes. If you are a Google AI Pro subscriber or AI Ultra, your “total upload duration” is 1 hour.

    Free users can access Saved info and specify chat preferences for each conversation (like “I am a vegetarian” or ‘Make responses concise”) instead of having to enter instructions into every prompt. Gemini can use past chats to inform current conversations

    with Google Ai Pro or You have ultra. Mentioning topics or timeframes from previous chats will trigger the feature. This can also be used to summarize previous conversations. The “Sources & related content” section will indicate when “Previous Chats” has been used.

    Deep Research

    Gemini’s first agentic allows users to ask a question, and receive a multi-point plan of research that they can customize. Gemini will then search the web and analyze its findings before composing a report. Files and images will be able to be uploaded into Deep Research as of I/O 2025. This will combine user and public knowledge in the final result.

    Image generation

    Users have “general access” for image creation, which includes images with people. Gemini uses Imagen 4 to improve text/typography, enhance quality and provide richer details. This will be available in I/O 2025.

    You can also refine images (both generated and uploaded ones) using text prompts.

    Video generation

    • Free Users: Not available
    • Google Ai Pro: Three 8-second clips generated using Veo 3 fast per day. Veo 2 afterward.
    • Google Ai ultra () : Powered Veo 3 with sound clips (effects, sounds, etc.).

    Both video use the same prompt: Aerial shot of grassy cliff onto sandy beach where waves pound the shore. A prominent sea stack rises out of the ocean near the coast, bathed warm, golden light from sunrise or sunset. Capturing the dramatic elevation changes and the serene beauty along the Pacific coastline.

    Scheduled actions

    Google launched “Scheduled Actions,” allowing users to have up to 10 active at a time. You can specify when (time/day/date, or after an event), a predefined prompt will run. You can then tap the mobile notification in order to see the response. You can edit, pause and delete them:
