What are the limits of the Gemini AI Pro and AI Ultra apps?

Users who do not have a Google AI plan will only get “Limited Access” to 2.5 Flash or 2.5 Pro. AI Ultra offers “Highest Access” and you have pro “Expanded Access”. You can change models if you reach the capacity limit of a model within a certain time period. Users of the Gemini app with Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra will have higher capacity limits on advanced models.

According to the app’s limitations, Deep Research Free uses Gemini 2.0 Flash. AI Pro is “Expanded Access using Gemini 2.5 Pro & 2.0 Flash”while AI Ultra returns you to the “Highest Access” setting. The same is true for Audio Overviews.

AI Pro offers “Limited Access using Veo 2″and Veo 3 is available for Ultra. All tiers have “General Access” for image generation.

Lastly, the context window remains unchanged at 32,000 pixels for free users while it is 1 million pixels for AI Pro and Ultra. Google has made 2.5 Flash the default in the Gemini app for Android, iOS and web users. The 2.0 Flash model has been removed. The model picker now shows:

  • 1.5 Pro (preview),: Reasoning, Math & Code
  • Customization (preview),: Based on your Search History
