Originally an ultra-fancy version of upscaling “DLSS” is now a gamer’s shorthand for a number of allegedly AI powered graphics tricks that are exclusive to Nvidia graphics cards. Will Smith, a PCWorld Lab analyst, has been comparing the performance of different cards and analyzing the various ways that upscaling works. Also, Brad Chacos is wild!

Will & Brad show that it is easy to compare this tech when you watch frame-by-frame, zoom in to the finer details and especially on games with a dedicated benchmarking tool. However, it can be much harder to notice in motion and how that affects your gaming. Note that some of the latest models, such as Transformer Upscale, can only be used in certain games.

This should help you decide what settings to use or whether to upgrade your card during these difficult times. Subscribe to for more tests and analyses. Watch our podcast and PCWorld on YouTube (). Every week, The Full Nerd !
