We found things AI is pretty good at.

Victoria Song is a senior journalist with 13 years’ experience. She focuses on wearables, healthcare tech, and much more. She worked at PC Magazine and Gizmodo before joining The Verge.

Tech firms keep telling everyone that AI features will change everything. When you ask for concrete examples of how to use these AI tools, they tend to give mediocre answers. It’s difficult to know how to use AI tools that are so open-ended.

Here at the Verge we have to test these AI tools in order to report on their features and the companies who build them. We’ve also found scenarios that are actually useful.

In the bonus episode of The Vergecast, Victoria Song talks to a group of Verge staffers about how they use AI in their daily lives. We discuss the shortcomings of these tools, but we also explore how AI can help parents plan cross-country moves and supplement their internet searches. Even a tabletop role-playing app can be created using vibe code.

We’d love to know if you have any examples of how AI has been useful to you. We’d love to hear about stories of AI’s spectacular failures, too. You can email [email protected] to the Verge Hotline or call 866-VERGE11 for more information.
