If this feature comes out of the box with the foldable, it will be a big step forward in reducing the barriers of compatibility between Android and Apple devices. However, at the same time, vivo could have been using some form connection API to spoof Apple servers into thinking that the X Fold 5 is a legit Apple device. This would then lead to Apple blocking access to the device.
If the feature is included with the foldable right out of the box, it will be a huge step forward for Android and Apple compatibility. However, it could also mean that vivo has been using some sort of connection API to fool Apple servers into believing that the X Fold 5 was a legitimate Apple device. This could at some point even violate Apple’s Terms of Usage and Apple could simply release a software update that blocks access.
A vivo X Fold 5 was recently spotted on the SIRIM database for Malaysia. This could mean that a launch is imminent. It will be the first foldable launched by the company in Malaysia.
We are confident that other Android phone manufacturers will eventually catch up to this achievement and enable compatibility support for Apple products. Exciting times!
