Google’s Gemini Live camera, and screenshare features, which allow the conversational AI to chatbot to answer questions about what you’re viewing in real-time are now rolling out on Pixel 9 series devices as well as Samsung Galaxy S25devices. The update will be available for free on other Android devices in the near future, but you must be a paid Gemini Advanced subscriber to get access.

When the update is available, you can activate live video at the touch of a button. You can then ask Gemini Live questions based on what your camera can see. Google’s Pixel Drop video from Aprilshows how you can point the camera to an aquarium tank and then ask Gemini Live about specific fish. You can also use the new screenshare feature to show Gemini Live an online shopping site and ask the AI assistant for styling advice or product comparisons.

Last week, Google spokesperson Alex Joseph confirmed to The Verge the features had begun rolling out to customers. Some users on Reddit confirmed that it appeared on their phones, including a Xiaomi. The video and screensharing features of Gemini Live were demonstrated for the first time in May at Google I/O developer’s conference as part “Project Astra.”
