Samsung’s latest custom Android skin One UI 8, based on Android 16 is currently available in select markets via the beta program. It will be a little while before older Galaxy devices, especially those with lower-end specs, get a taste. One of the Samsung smartphones that is eligible for One UI 8 could be the Galaxy A55. The stable build of One UI 8 may arrive by the end 2025.
Samsung Galaxy A55 We say this because the Samsung Galaxy A55 with model code SM A556E has been released. Geekbench shows a smartphone powered by Exynos 1480 running Android 16. This suggests that Samsung has begun working on One UI 8 to run on this device.

We expect Samsung to open the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy A55 in the next few months, with the stable build released before 2026. Until then, you’ll have to use your Samsung Galaxy A55 with One UI 7 based on Android 15.
