Schulman, credited as one of the leading architects for ChatGPT and OpenAI’s ChatGPT project, left OpenAI in August last year to join Anthropic. He announced the decision via X, stating that it was a result of his desire to focus more on AI alignment – the science behind ensuring AI behaves in the intended way – and do more hands on technical work.
