According to reports, former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, who co-founded OpenAI, will be joining the secretive new startup of former OpenAI cofounder John Schulman. Fortune. It’s unclear what Schulman will do there. Fortune was unable to get this information because Murati has kept mum about the venture ever since she left OpenAI last September. Fortune was told by a source that Murati had recruited other ex-OpenAI employees, including Christian Gibson who was on OpenAI’s Supercomputing Team.

Schulman, credited as one of the leading architects for ChatGPT and OpenAI’s ChatGPT project, left OpenAI in August last year to join Anthropic. He announced the decision via X, stating that it was a result of his desire to focus more on AI alignment – the science behind ensuring AI behaves in the intended way – and do more hands on technical work.
