OpenAI claims to be generating $10B in revenue annually
Openai says it recently reached $10 billion in annual revenue recurring, up from $5.5 billion last. OpenAI’s spokesperson told CNBC that this figure includes revenue from its consumer products, ChatGPT products for businesses, and API. OpenAI currently serves more than 500,000,000 weekly active users, and 3,000,000 paying business customers.
This revenue milestone is about two and a quarter years after OpenAI launched ChatGPT, its popular chatbot platform. The company aims to generate $125 billion of revenue by 2029. OpenAI is under pressure
to increase revenue rapidly. The company spends billions of dollars each year on hiring and recruiting talent for its AI products and securing infrastructure to train and operate AI systems. OpenAI hasn’t disclosed its operating costs or if it is close to profitability.
