OnePlus revealed its artificial-intelligence plans for its devices. The Plus Key will replace the Alert Slider. The Plus Key is a physical key that users can customize. They can use it to launch the camera or translate text. It also launches the AI Plus Mind feature which records and recalls information on screen. Pressing the Plus Key will activate AI Plus Mind, which will save important information, such as event details, listings, or schedules. Note that this feature can extract information from images and text. They can also swipe up with three fingers.
AI Plus Mind saves relevant content in a Mind Space where users can browse the information they’ve saved. Users can search for details using natural language queries. The OnePlus 13s will be the first to debut the Plus Key as well as the AI Plus Mind. AI Plus Mind will be rolled out to all OnePlus 13 Series devices via a future software upgrade, while the new physical key will be included in every future OnePlus device. The new button and feature are similar to the physical Essential Key from Nothing, which can also be used to save information in the Essential Space app. Carl Pei, who founded OnePlus with Carl Pei, founded Nothing.
OnePlus is also developing a number of tools for its AI, such as AI VoiceScribe, which allows users to “record, summarize and translate calls and meetings directly within popular messaging, video, and online meeting applications.” AI Translation, which will consolidate all the brand’s translation abilities via text, voice, camera, and screen in one app, similar to Google Translate. AI Search will allow users to search local files and notes using natural language queries. AI Best Face 2.0 is also coming this summer and can correct issues such as closed eyes in group photographs.
