(19659001)

According a SEC The US government has now required companies to obtain a licensing to export H20 integrated chips and any other products that meet the same performance benchmarks. The filing states “the license requirement addresses the risk that the covered products may be used in, or diverted to, a supercomputer in China.” that Mainland China isn’t the only country targeted by this license. NVIDIA also needs permission to sell H20 to Hong Kong, Macau and nations with the D5 designation ofUS Arms Embargo Countries. The H20 chips, which are the most advanced chips available for sale in select international markets according to current laws, are powerful enough to use for artificial intelligence applications. NVIDIA wanted to retain Chinese customers and last week it appeared that the company had gotten a reprieve from new restrictions . It appears that the new licensing requirement “will be in effect for the indefinite future.”

NVIDIA stated in the SEC filing it now expects that it will report about $5.5 Billion in charges related “inventory, purchase commitments and related reserves” to the H20 Circuits in its results for the current fiscal quarter.
