Meta just announced
Its first-ever LlamaCon,is a developer conference dedicated to generative AI. It is scheduled for April 29, 2019. Why the llama name? The company named the event after their family of generative AI model. Meta promises to “share our latest open source AI developments in order to help developers build amazing apps and products.” There is no information about speakers or possible products. We know the company is currently working on Llama 4 with a release window of early 2025, so it’s likely we’ll get a sizzle clip.
According to the company, it will have more information about LlamaCon in “the coming weeks.” Meta says that 2025 is shaping up as another “banger” year. It has therefore scheduled the next major Connect for September 17. The Meta Connect 2024 event gave us the Quest 3S ( ) and the fancy Orion prototype AR glass. According to TechCrunch,Meta has been scrambling for a way to find out how AI rival DeepSeek is able to create tech that rivals their own ata fraction of the cost. The report suggests that DeepSeek’s upcoming models may outperform Llama 4 in terms of performance. The company is also involved in a lawsuit that accuses them of training Llama model on copyrighted books without permission.
