META’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg believes that in 2025, an AI assistant that will serve more than one billion users will be provided by META.
Meta has revealed that in 2023 they will have AI inference accelerations they are designing specifically for Meta’s AI workloads. Deep Learning recommendation models are improving the variety of Meta products.
Yesterday, Meta highlighted its Meta Training and Inference Accelerator family of custom-made processors designed for Meta’s AI workflows. Custom $AVGO MTIA chip now targets training workloads and ranking systems in order to reduce NVIDIA GPU dependency. The custom ASICs are designed to support inference. They will achieve cost savings by deploying custom MTIA silicon where they can lower the cost of computation by optimizing the chip for their unique workloads.
Meta revenue increased by 21% in the last year, reaching a new high of $48.4 Billion. Net income increased by 49% YoY, reaching a new high of $20.8 billion. Operating margins have increased from 41% to 48% in the past year.
META is still going to spend $60-65 Billion on Capex, and the majority of that will be AI Infrastructure.
To achieve AI success, it is important to invest heavily in infrastructure and CapEx.
AI drives revenue growth. Four million advertisers use generative AI tools, up from one million six months ago. AI is a benefit to their business. The advancements and investments become evident when they take a thoughtful, strategic approach.
AI increases margins. META will increase margins by creating an AI agent that can code at a mid level engineering standard.
META’s focus will be on AI monetization once they reach a billion users. META is focused on scaling up the AI products and will then consider monetization.
Meta’s strategic thrust: Custom $ Avgo MTIA Chips now target training workloads and ranking systems in order to reduce NVIDIA GPU dependency. $NVDA is down -5% due to Meta’s in-house AI silicon. Future datacenter GPU sales could be affected by a strategic shift $META https://t.co/z9Re1jlJAQ pic.twitter.com/jrpMT97b0N
