How to watch LlamaCon, Meta’s first generative AI Developer Conference

(19659001)

After two years of hosting its open-source Llama AI as part of its Connect conferences only, Meta is stepping out and hosting a generative AI-focused dev conference called LlamaCon. It will take place on April 29. The event will be entirely virtual and you can watch it live on the Meta for Developers Facebook page .

LlamaCon begins at 1PM ET/10AM PT, with a keynote speech from Meta’s Chief Products Officer Chris Cox and Vice President of AI Manohar Paluri. Research scientist Angela Fan will also be delivering a keynote. The keynote will cover “the latest on the Llama collection of models and tools” as well as a preview of yet-to be released AI features.

After the keynote address, a conversation will take place at 1:45PMET / 1045PMET between Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg & Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi about “building AI-powered applications,” followed by a chat between Zuckerberg & Microsoft CEO Satya Naddella at 7PMET / 4PMPT on “the latest trends in AI” . Microsoft and Meta have worked together before, so it’s possible that either conversation could be used to break a story.

Meta doesn’t wait for a conference before releasing updates to Meta AI and the Llama Model. On a Saturday morning in early April, the company launched its new Llama 4 models, which excels at image understanding and documents parsing. It’s unclear what new products or models the company could have kept for LlamaCon.

LlamaCon is streaming live on April 29th via the Meta for Developers Facebook page and we will be live-blogging this event right here at Engadget to ensure you get all the information as it happens.
