Google’s new AI video Veo 2 model will cost 50 cents a second
Google quietly revealed the pricing for Veo 2, its video-generating AI model, which it announced in December.
According the company’spricing page, Veo 2 costs 50 cents a second, which amounts to $30 per minute, or $1,800 an hour. Google DeepMind researcher Jon Barron compared the pricing of Veo 2 with that of Marvel’s blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame,” whose reported production budget was $356 million, or about $32,000 per second.
Ofcourse, customers won’t use every second of Veo generated video they pay for. Veo 2 is unlikely to produce epic “Avengers'” three-hour movies anytime soon. (Google’s announcement highlighted Veo 2’s ability to create clips longer than two minutes).
OpenAI recently made their Sora video-generation model available to subscribers who pay $200 a month for ChatGPT Pro.
