Google just announced a new $250 AI Ultra plan per month for those who want unlimited access its most advanced machine-learning features. You read it correctly. The new subscription costs $50 more than the existing ChatGPT Pro or Claude Max plans. Openai & Anthropic.
For just $250, you can get early access to new models such as Veo 3 and unlimited use of features like Flow – the new AI film-making application announced today by the company – and the compute-intensive Deep Research. Google will roll out Deep Think, the enhanced reasoning mode included in its Gemini 2.5 Pro, to AI Ultra users over the next few weeks. Subscribers will also have access to Project Mariner – Google’s web surfing agent – and Gemini in Chrome, as well as all the usual places to find the chatbot, such Gmail and Docs.
Google justifies the high price of AI Ultra in part by pointing out that it includes YouTube Premium, 30TB of cloud storage on Google Photos Drive and Gmail. Google does not offer 30TB cloud storage on its own. A YouTube Premium subscription costs $14 per month. Google One’s Premium tier, which comes with 2TB storage for $10 a month, is the closest comparison. Google offers new subscribers a 50 percent discount on their first three months as an additional incentive to sign up. Google has also redesigned its AI Premium plan as of today. The subscription, which is now known as Google AI Pro, includes the Flow app, and early access to Gemini for Chrome. Google says that the new benefits are first available to US subscribers, and then to other countries.
