Google Photos gets AI-powered conversational editing

Google Photos now has AI-powered conversational editing (19459000)

Google Photos has a new feature today to go along with its Pixel 10 series unveiling. The app now supports conversational AI-powered edits, as rumored earlier in the month. The Pixel 10 will be the first to offer this feature in the US.

You can describe the edits that you want to make in the Photos editor by text or voice, and they will appear magically.

It’s powered by Google Gemini. It’s an open experience, so you don’t need to specify which tools you’d like to use. AI will do the rest. Just speak as you normally would and AI will handle the rest. Google gives examples like “remove the cars in the background” “restore this old photo” “remove the reflections and fix the washed out colors” “make it better”or”make it better”

. If you are unsure what you want, there are also suggestions. You can add instructions to each edit so that you can fine-tune the image to your liking. Just ask. You can also add items, change the background and more.

Pixel 10 devices were the first to implement C2PA Content Credentials, an industry standard, in the native camera application, for photos taken with or without AI. Google Photos will also be adding C2PA support. This means that you can see the information about how a photo was captured or edited using C2PA Content Credentials in Google Photos. This feature is first available on the Pixel 10 devices, and then gradually rolled out to Android and iOS devices.
