Although US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Sunday delaying any possible ban of the social networking app for 75-days, TikTok is still absent from all US App Stores. Apple and Google have not given any hints as to whether it will be returning. If you live in America, and you delete the app, or lose your phone, then you’re locked out. You can’t download it again. This could be a disaster for content creators, social media managers and brand marketers. It’s also an expensive one.
eBayers are taking advantage of this unfortunate situation. Searching for “TikTok Phone” on eBay will bring up over 9,000 listings, including used smartphones from Apple and Samsung that already have the TikTok application installed.
The seller can do this by simply signing out of any iCloud or Google accounts associated with the device, rather than restoring it to factory settings. To avoid losing the app that they paid so much for, buyers would need to be cautious not to sync with any existing cloud backup. They would also need to ensure that any security measures have been removed by the seller.
It is obvious that anyone considering this option should proceed with caution, especially given the high asking price some sellers are trying.

Despite the inflated prices, there is a lot of interest. These phones are sellingbut it’s hard to tell how much. When you use the “sold filter” on eBay, you’ll find a lot of sales that look completed. However, they all have an “accepted best offer” note attached.
Any completed auctions with incredibly high prices appear to have been relisted soon after, indicating an unsuccessful sale. Only those with prices close to the market value of secondhand phones look to have sold.
A quick look at the current auctions shows that these phones are also attracting much lower prices than a first search might suggest.
It’s unclear whether the TikTok Premium is real, but it doesn’t stop people from trying. The number of results for the TikTok search term on phones increased by over 2,000 during the writing of this article. This was probably due to the fact that the app could return to US app stores anytime.
Currently, a TikTok app search on Apple’s App Store and Google Play is met with a statement citing legal requirements for the reason that the app isn’t available. The executive order Trump signed instructing the Department of Justice not to “take any action to enforce the Act, or impose any penalties for any non-compliance with Act” is still in effect. RedNote has been flooded with thousands of users this week. The app is scrambling to hire English-speaking moderators and also trying to capitalize its newfound success.
